HYMN

At Midmorning

Now, Holy Spirit, come, descend,*
one with the Father and the Son;
come swiftly in and fill our hearts*
with your full flood of holiness.

In mind and mouth, with heart and tongue,*
with strength and sense, may praise resound,
May charity with ardor blaze*
and kindle others with its flame.

Now through your presence may we know*
and love the Father and the Son,
and you, the Spirit of them both,*
may we profess throughout all time. Amen.

At Midday

O mighty Ruler, God of truth,*
for days and seasons setting bounds,
you clothe with splendor morning light*
and midday skies with brilliant heat.

Extinguish flames of bitter strife,*
all harmful passion take away,
grant health unto our mortal frame,*
and on our hearts bestow true peace.

Most loving Father, hear our prayer,*
and you, O Christ coequal Son,
who with the Spirit Paraclete*
now reign for all eternity. Amen.

At Midafternoon

O God, our firm and steadfast strength,*
remaining in yourself unmoved,
you rule the span of daily light*
and guide the course of all the hours.

Bestow at eventide a light*
by which our life may never fail;
may endless glory be the crown*
that follows on a holy death.

Most loving Father, hear our prayer,*
and you, O Christ, coequal Son,
who with the Spirit Paraclete*
now reign for all eternity. Amen.

Antiphons and Psalms of the Weekday

At Midmorning

Scripture Reading [Wis. 5, 16-17]
The virtuous live for ever, their recompense lies with the Lord; the Most High takes care of them. So they shall receive the royal crown of splendour, the diadem of beauty from the hand of the Lord; for he will shelter them with his right hand and shield them with his arm.

【V】:These are the people who seek the Lord.
【R】:They seek the face of the God of Jacob.

At Midday

Scripture Reading [Ecclus. 44, 10-14]
Here is a list of generous men whose good works have not been forgotten. In their descendants there remains a rich inheritance born of them. Their descendants stand by the covenants; and, thanks to them, so do their children's children. Their offspring will last forever, their glory will not fade. Their bodies have been buried in peace, and their name lives on for all generations.

【V】:The people shall tell of their wisdom.
【R】:The Church will proclaim their praises.

At Midafternoon

Scripture Reading [Tob. 2,18]
We are the sons of the holy ones and we await the life that God will grant to those who never withdraw their faith In him.

【V】:Our brethren have received the crown of life.
【R】:Which God has promised to those who love him.

Concluding Prayer
Almighty and ever-living God, you were pleased to make your Church illustrious through the varied splendour of the Saints of the Seraphic Order. As we venerate their memory in one festival may we also follow such shining examples of virtues on earth and thus obtain merited crowns in heaven: we ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
